1. Alts & Mains are not created equal

This may seem obvious, but Alts and Mains are not created equal. Your Main is the character that the guild primarily depends on and the character that we see being able to help the guild the most. It's the character we're most committed to gearing up.

2. You can only have one Main

Again, obvious. While you may hold both your Main and your Alt near and dear to your heart, and find them both fun to play, the guild considers you as having one main character. You can't have more than one.

3. You can switch your Main ... maybe

If you find that you want to make your Alt your Main, it might be possible. Just talk to Tyrill or Liorah about what you want to do and why. Be sure to think about how the toon will fit into the guild's mix of classes. Be prepared to say how the class and your skill in playing it can bring more to the guild than your current Main. If you've just gotten your holy pally ready for Naxx and we've got seven level 80 holy pallys already, all in l33t epics, there's probably little chance of making your holy pally your main over your shaman that's decked out in full t10.

4. Sometimes Mains get left behind

As much as we'd like to have every run full of Main toons so that people can get the gear they need, sometimes it's not possible. And sometimes we have heaps of melee DPS signed up and not enough ranged DPS. In those situations, we're often forced to take an Alt to fill those roles. And sometimes when that happens, we're forced to leave out some people who'd signed up for the raid with their Main. It's nothing personal – one of the challenges in putting together a raid is trying to give everyone who wants to go the chance to, while still putting together a group that has a strong chance for success.

5. Raid sign-ups should be one per person, not one per toon

Since Xzin isn't a member of CH, we're limiting raid sign-ups to one per person. Um, and if you want to be like Xzin and try multiboxing? Have at it, but we won't be bringing both your toons at the same time.

6. Mains have priority over Alts for loot

If you do bring an Alt on a 10-man raid, you won't be given the opportunity to roll on loot until all the Main characters have passed on it for onset unless it's an 'Open' raid.

If you bring an Alt to a 25-man raid, you'll accrue DKP but your Alt will only be allowed to bid for an item if a) the Officers asked you to bring your Alt to the raid as no Raiding Member Main of the same role (e.g. Tank, Healer or DPS) was available or b) you asked to play your Alt in the raid and all the Mains have passed for primary and secondary raiding specs. This is so that we ensure that people's Mains are geared as quickly as possible.
