The membership structure of CH is:

- Officer
- Officer Alt
- Veretan
- Core Raider
- Casual Raider
- Social Member
- Alt
- Recruit
Raiding Members
Raiding Members are active members of the Convicted Heroes raid team. They have appropriate tier or equivalent/badger/crafted epic gear, know how to play their class and are committed to raiding.
We expect our Raiding Members to:
- sign-up for raids on a regular basis, committing to consecutive nights in progress content wherever possible
- be online and ready to go at the stated invite time, with gear repaired, pots and consumables ready, etc.
- stay until the stated raid end-time unless they have notified an officer before the invites have gone out
- let an officer or raid assistant in the raid know before they go AFK during a raid
- let an officer know if they are going to be taking an extended absence (more than a week) from the game
- maintain a positive, friendly attitude during raids, supporting their fellow teammates and contributing to the morale of the team.
Maniac
'Maniac' is an unofficial rank, but one that is considered when putting together a raid. A 'Maniac' has attended every 25-man raid in the past month. Maniacs are the first people put in the raid and are guaranteed a raid spot. A list of current Maniacs is kept in the CH Forum.
Veteran
A 'Veteran' is a raider is expected to know his or her class well enough to provide assistance other players to better their performance. All the same requirements and conditions of a Core Raider apply to Veteran. Veterans may be approached for advice.
Core Raider
A 'Core Raider' has attended 75% or more of all 25-man raids in the past month. Core Raiders are put in the raid after Maniacs and Officers. A Core Raider may – on the odd occasion – be left out of the raid in favour of a Casual Raider if there are issues of class balance (eg we need four tanks and have four signed up as available, but one is a Casual Raider – that Casual Raider will be given a spot ahead of a DPS Core Raider).
A Core Raider may need to sit out of a particular raid if there are too many Core Raiders signed up – people who have been sat out will be the first Core Raiders put in the next raid they sign up for.
Casual Raider attends less than 75% of all 25-man raids and/or doesn't want to make that kind of commitment to raiding. Casual Raiders are put in the raid if any spots are available after Maniacs, Officers and Core Raiders.
All raiders – Core and Casual – are expected to maintain an appropriate level of gear and continue to uphold their responsibilities as a raider as outline on the guild website. For Casual Raiders, this will mean running instances to get badges for Epic Badge Reward gear and obtaining crafted epics where necessary, as well and gemming and enchanting gear appropriately. Casual Raiders who fail to maintain their gear and other responsibilities will be moved to Social Member status.
What is 'Attending' a Raid?
Attending a raid is signing up for a raid as available and being online, ready to go, at invite time. This holds whether you've been selected for the night's roster or are still in the queued list.
If you are in the queued list, you don't have to stay for the whole raid to be marked as attending – you only need to stay online until the raid is full. You do have to be able to stay if you're asked to take a spot in the raid – should a spot become available, we will look to people online and in the queued list. If you want to receive Waitlist DKP, you need to stay online for the duration of the raid and notify the DKP Admin (Tyrill) that you want WDKP, and stay on your main or a guilded alt.
No Shows & Leaving Early
Raiders who are put in the roster but fail to turn up without a valid and unavoidable excuse – an emergency, basically – will be the last people put in the next official raid they sign up for. Three no shows in a reasonable time frame and you'll be moved to the next lower rank (Core Raiders moved to Casual Raiders, Casual Raiders moved to Social Member). Any subsequent no shows may result in you becoming ineligible for any 25-man raids.
Raiders who sign up for a raid as 'available' are expected to stay until the 'official' end of the raid: 10.30/11pm. If you discover you are going to need to leave before that time, talk to Tyrill or the raid leader for the evening (or, failing that, an officer) prior to the start of the raid. Leaving before raid end time without an urgent and unavoidable reason will be counted as a No Show.
The Process
At the end of each calendar month, we'll look at the attendance for each raiding member. Core Raiders who have dropped below 75% attendance for the first time will be contacted and the situation discussed. The Officers may or may not choose to move the raider to Casual Raider status, based on the outcome of that discussion and previous attendance history. Core Raiders who have dropped below 75% attendance for the second consecutive month will be moved to Casual Raider status.
Casual Raiders who have attended at least 75% of raids in that calendar month may request to be moved to Core Raider status. That promotion will be determined by a consensus of the Officers and be dependent upon class numbers/requirements. Remember: even if you don't get selected for the raids, you can earn Core Raider status by signing up and coming online for 75% of the raids as you have met all of your responsibilities as a raider, maintaining your gear, gems, enchants, etc.
When Real Life Intervenes
While we have raiding ranks and attendance requirements, at its heart Convicted Heroes is not a hardcore raiding guild. We value fun and friendship, and know that there are times when RL intervenes and you need to take some time out. If you are going to be away from raiding for three consecutive raids or more, please post the dates and reason in the Extended Absences thread on the forum. When attendance is evaluated at the end of the month, these days will not be considered. For example, if there were 20 25-man raids in a month and you missed 5 of them due to studying for Uni exams (and you had posted this ahead of time in Extended Absence forum), your attendance would be checked for the other 15 raids. If you had attended 12 of those raids, your attendance would be 80% as opposed to 60%.
If you need to take a break from raiding for personal reasons you're not comfortable posting on the forum, please just whisper Tyrill (or another officer) in-game to have a chat.
If you have a regularly recurring absence – like you play cards every other Thursday night, have class on Monday nights or have promised your significant other not to play on Friday nights – those will count as missed raids. We'll need you to make the commitment to raiding on the other nights. So if you take one night a week off to do something else, we need you to be there the other three nights of the week. Otherwise, we'll have to increase the number of Core Raiders to make sure we have enough people on any given night and more people will end up being sat out – which is something we're trying to avoid.
If you just 'disappear' for awhile – stop signing up for raids and don't come online – without letting us know via the forum, PM, IM, email or morse code, you will most likely lose your raid spot. After two weeks we'll open your spot up for recruitment and Core Raiders will be demoted to Casual Raiders. After a month you'll be moved to Social Member status and will have to reapply for your raid spot. If you're reinstated as a raider, you may be put on a one month probationary period depending upon the reasons for your disappearance and how pissed off the officers are.
Social Members
Social members are primarily family and friends (either in RL or GL) of existing Convicted Heroes raiding members. We all want to play the game with our family and friends, and this will allow CH to invite your friends and family to the guild, even though they don't meet the application criteria or play a class that's currently marked as 'full' for recruitment purposes. Requests for social membership come from the raiding member themselves – there's no formal application process. The maximum number of Social Members any one Raiding Member can sponosr is three. If you have a friend or family member you'd like to join CH as a Social Member, simply talk to one of the officers in-game or send a PM via the forums.
The primary distinction between a Social Member and a Raiding Member is that a Social Member cannot sign up for guild raids. Social members can attend pre-WotLK raids, assuming they are the appropriate level and have suitable gear. They may also be asked to participate in raids of 'Farm' content if there are unfilled spots and their gear is appropriate for the instance.
Social Members aren't a 'B-team' or a farm team for the Raiding Member rank. Social Members can apply to becoming Raiding Members, but they'll be held to the same standards as external applicants.
Like Raiding Members, Social Members are expected to adhere to the guild's general rules and etiquette at all times. They should understand that CH won't help them level or get attuned in any kind of organised way, and they shouldn't spam guild chat to find people to join their Naxx group or help them level.
Recruits
Recruits are people who have been recently invited to join CH. The 'Recruit' period lasts roughly two weeks, and really exists so that both sides can make sure that there's good fit between the Guild and the new member. After two weeks, the Guest will be promoted to Core or Casual Raider, or Social Member, whichever membership type was originally offered. The two-week period may be extended at the discretion of the Officers.
Recruits who have been offered a Raiding Member invitation may attend all raids and will earn DKP on 25-man raids. However they will not be able to spend that DKP until they have been promoted to Raiding Member.
